Death and disablement in Service

When a tragedy occurs in your life, it can bring in its wake further difficulties with your home and your finances for which it is sometimes impossible to plan. These difficulties can also be harder to cope with during a period of grief or a challenging lifestyle adjustment.

We want to help members of the RAF family in these situations. We offer help with housing costs and the cost of children's education. We take account of your unique situation and work with you to try find a good solution, but in general we offer this help when:

  • Your partner dies while serving in the RAF
  • You are medically discharged from the RAF with a severe disability that prevents you from finding long term employment
  • You are currently serving in the RAF and your partner or child has a severe disability that requires specialist supervision
