Financial need

It is not unusual to experience financial worries at some time in your life. Our goal is to ensure that all members of the RAF, both past and present, have the minimum they need in order to live from day-to-day with dignity and honour, and without experiencing unnecessary hardship.

We have the flexibility to give help that suits your own unique situation. The kind of financial assistance we give includes helping with day-to-day living expenses, particularly those who are retired or living with a long term illness or disability, and help with emergency needs when financial difficulties have been caused by death or serious illness.

We also offer advice on debt, benefits and money management through a scheme run in partnership with The Royal British Legion and Citizens Advice. The scheme's specialist advisors have knowledge of the Services and the difficulties experienced when returning to civilian life. We usually recommend meeting with one of these advisors at your nearest Citizens Advice Bureau as the first step in seeking assistance with financial problems.
