Welfare breaks

Welfare breaks are a chance for you to get away, when the stress and strain of daily life is higher than normal.

It may be because you or your partner are currently serving and have been deployed abroad for long periods. A welfare break gives your family, or just the two of you, time away together.

Or it may be that you're caring for a family member in their own home. Caring at home for someone in your family can be very demanding and put pressure on your relationship. A welfare break gives you and/or the person you care for time away to rest and recuperate.

Depending on your circumstances, we may be able to help pay for welfare breaks.

  • For serving RAF couples or families we have Seacot House, a large luxurious detached house on the beach on the South Coast.
  • For ex-RAF there is Princess Marina House, our care home in Rustington, where you can take a break knowing that you have highly skilled staff capable of coping with whatever level of care you or your partner require.

We own three more homes jointly with RAFA. These homes offer high specification secluded apartments for serving RAF and/or short term care for older people and people with a disability - see Homes owned jointly with RAFA.

We also help pay for holidays through the RAF and Dependents Disabled Holidays Trust (RAFDDHT), whose aim is to allow those with a severe disability to take holidays in the UK or abroad on equal terms with the able-bodied.

Please contact us if none of these options fit your needs for a welfare break - we may be able to help in other ways too.
