POW 3267 is a book about farmer's boy, William McIlroy, who enlisted at the age of 17 with the RAF.

This is the story of his wartime experiences in RAF Bomber Command written by his son. It describes Mac's training, operations, being shot down and then his time as a POW in a French hospital in Reims for nine months, followed by time in the famous Stalag Luft 3 and lastly in Luckenwald, south of Berlin. The story finishes with his escape from Luckenwald, repatriation to Oxford and flying with the VIP Squadron based in Vienna-VIPs including Viscount Montgomery and Margot Fonteyn-during the aftermath of the war.
