By recycling your old inkjet printer cartridges and mobile phones you can reduce pollution at the same time as supporting the work of RAF Benevolent Fund. You can now also recycle your unwanted jewellery!
Recycle unwanted gold, silver, costume jewellery and watches
Recycling reduces the demand for raw materials, thereby reducing mining and quarrying worldwide. These activities are destroying the environment and wildlife habitats and causing health problems.
Broken and damaged items can be recycled too so you could start by sending us all those odd earrings and snapped chains! But don't be afraid of letting go of more valuable items as all the jewellery you send is carefully evaluated before it is recycled.
If you send us an email containing your name and address, or use our request form, we will send you a prepaid, pre-addressed recycling envelope in which you can send your jewellery - though more fragile items may need to be wrapped in tissue paper or bubble wrap for safety.
We receive 75% of the value of your recycled jewellery.
Recycle your mobile phone
If you have a mobile phone that has come the the end of its life or that's been replaced with a newer model, send us an email containing your name and address, or use our request form, and we will send you a prepaid, pre-addressed recycling envelope. Not only will you be reducing waste but also supporting the RAF Benevolent Fund.
We work in partnership with Greener Solutions, a leader in end-of-life mobile phone recycling, to provide an environmental solution for defunct mobile phones. To date, Greener Solutions has collected over a million mobile phones and raised in excess of £1.8 million for partner charities.
Some mobile phones are re-used, proving effective devices for families and individuals in the developing world, thereby helping to improve local economies, quality of life and personal safety.
Phones that cannot be re-used are recycled for their components, which helps to save energy, which in turn reduces the production of greenhouse gases.
The recycling fulfils all pending and current legislation that governs the cycle of electrical waste in the environment, including the WEEE directive (Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and national waste management legislation.
Recycle printer cartridges
Over 30 million printer cartridges are thrown away in the UK every year. Most of these can be recycled or reused.
If you want to recycle your old inkjet printer cartridges, send us an email containing your name and address, or use our request form. We will send you a prepaid, pre-addressed recycling bag for your old cartridges - no stamps are required. We receive £1 for every inkjet printer cartridge you recycle.
Please note that we cannot recycle Epson cartridges.
