Ways we help

The Alexander Duckham Memorial Trust makes grants to people in financial need who have/had a child-parent relationship with a member/former member of the RAF.

Applicants can be biological or adoptive children (including those adopted in fact but not in law) or someone for who’s upbringing a member/former member of the RAF took responsibility.

The upper age limit is 21 years of age.  Grants are limited to educational support.

Examples of grants awarded are:

•    School fees where the needs of the child cannot be fulfilled in the state system, for example due to the child's physical or mental health, or the child's particular sporting or artistic talents
•    Lessons for children with particular sporting or artistic talents
•    Lessons and assessment costs for those with physical or learning disabilities who would benefit from more support than the state can provide
•    School uniform, books, laptops, school trips, musical instruments, sports or other equipment
•    Tertiary education
