Some of our funders
Find out how trusts and grantmakers have made a difference to the lives of RAF Family members.
The Thales Charitable Trust
Through its longstanding association with the Fund, The Thales Charitable Trust has donated unrestricted funding, year in year out, in total contributing more than £170,000. Through their regular support, given in addition to Thales UK's sponsorship, we are able to plan for the future with confidence, ensuring we can continue to provide life-changing services and support.
The Wimbledon Foundation
The Wimbledon Foundation has generously pledged to support Airplay, our flagship youth support programme, with a grant over three years. Airplay supports approximately 2,000 RAF children each year with a wide array of play and skills learning activities, trips and youth forums. For the first time in 2020, thanks to The Wimbledon Foundation’s grant, children can now also access Airplay Connect, a new online forum providing fun activities digitally. This new digital resource enables RAF families not living on or near RAF stations to have access to Airplay.
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has been a long-time supporter of the Fund and we were thrilled to be a beneficiary again despite the challenges of cancelling the 2020 show due to COVID-19. Their generous donation help us deliver support to the RAF Family based in Scotland through the provision of financial assistance to serving personnel and veterans in need, as well as supporting independent living.
In 2020 the Fund succeeded in securing a grant of over £158,000 from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust in response to the increased demand for our services due to COVID-19. This funding enabled us to respond quickly to those affected by the pandemic, supporting welfare Check and Chat calls, our Listening and Counselling Service, and a new employment/legal advice helpline.
