Help and information for Executors and Solicitors
Here you will find information and guidance for solicitors and executors. We know that dealing with the death of a loved one, friend or client can be extremely difficult; we will support and guide you wherever we can.
Gifts in Wills, like the one you are administering, are vital to our work supporting serving and ex-serving members of the RAF and their families. Over 60% of our fundraised income comes from these very special gifts. By delivering on your loved ones final wishes in executing their Will, you are both helping to support the RAF family for generations to come.
Before making a payment from any money left in a Will, it is helpful to us if you are able to email legacyadmin@rafbf.org.uk with the following information:
- Your name and address
- The deceased name and last known address
- Details of the gift left to us
- Date of grant of probate received (if available now)
- A copy of the Will
- Any Reasons as to why the gift was left us.
Please make a payment to us in one of the following two ways:
- By cheque
We would prefer to receive any legacy payments electronically. However if this isn’t possible, please send a cheque made payable to:
Legacies at RAF Benevolent Fund
67 Portland Place
London
W1B 1AR
Please also include your name and address and the details of the deceased, such as name and last known address in a covering letter.
- By Bacs Transfer
Please include ‘Legacies’ and the name of the deceased as the reference so that we can make sure we identify the payment correctly.
If you wish to send us a legacy payment by bank transfer please email legacyadmin@rafbf.org.uk for the bank details.
Charity details are required in all Wills written by a solicitor. This information is helpful to Executors to ensure that the gift left to the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund reaches us:
Charity name:
Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund
Charity address:
67 Portland Place
London
W1B 1AR
Charity Number:
Registered charity in England and Wales (1081009) and in Scotland (SC038109)
We hope the information we have provided is useful. If you are not a professional executor i.e. a solicitor, you may find this guide useful.
