C-130 Challenge
To commemorate the closure of 47sqn, home of the beloved C-130 Hercules, members of the squadron are challenging you to run, walk or cycle 130 miles in 47 days.
However, wherever, and whenever you complete your challenge is up to you - all that matters is you will be helping members of the RAF Family to live safer, more dignified lives.
People who have served in the RAF are trained to be self-reliant. They don't want to make a fuss and they don't want to be a burden. So all too often, when life gets tough, they suffer in silence.
The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund don't believe anyone who has served their country should have to struggle through life. We are there to support people who are serving or have served and their families, when they need. For over 100 years, they've been supporting the whole of the RAF Family from the oldest veteran to the youngest child. Together, we'll continue to be here for as long as they need us.
You can take part as an individual or as part of a team.
To track your miles for this challenge, you can link your Strava activity to your Enthuse page or simply manually enter the miles you've clocked as you go.
In return for your support you will receive:
- a guaranteed place in the event
- a fundraising toolkit to give you ideas on how to reach your target
- support from your local Regional Fundraiser to help you with your fundraising and answer any questions you have about the event
- an exclusive t-shirt on completion of the event
