In 2021, the Royal Air Force played a pivotal role in Operation Pitting - the evacuation of Kabul - one of the largest airlift operations since World War II. The brave actions of RAF personnel saved countless lives with professionalism and compassion when it was needed most.
This dangerous operation took a mental toll on many of the RAF personnel who took part, but the RAF Benevolent Fund was there to support them through our listening and counselling service.
