James McMillan and Ben Murphy from The Blades Aerobatic Team will be taking on The Dambusters Ride on Saturday 14 May, a cycle fundraiser organised by the RAF Benevolent Fund, the RAF’s leading welfare charity.

James and Ben, based at Sywell Aerodrome in Northamptonshire, will be cycling on behalf of 2Excel, the Blades’ parent company, which will be sponsoring the twosome.

The rest of Team2Excel are from the main company base at Doncaster airport and consist of people from the aircrew, ops and communications departments. 2Excel was started by 2 former RAF officers, counts a large number of ex-RAF personnel amongst its staff, and has always had a strong connection to the RAF Benevolent Fund through the Blades.

James said: "We signed up for the ride as a number of us completed the inaugural event last year and were keen to do it again. It was a great experience and we're all looking forward to being a part of the main event, sharing the road with others and helping to raise money for the Fund."
