On Sunday 27 October fundraiser Toby Harris will be taking part in the Macclesfield Half Marathon to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund.

Toby Harris, 26, from Cheshire, served in the RAF Police between 2018 and 2023 and was primarily based at RAF Brize Norton.

Toby said: “I chose to fundraise for the RAF Benevolent Fund because they provided me with counselling support towards the end of my career when I was struggling with poor mental health due to my experience whilst serving and home life. The support I received was amazing.

“I signed up to the event to raise money for the Fund as my way of giving back. I was in a really dark place and the Fund kept my head above water for a good few months. The thing I am most looking forward to during the event is the support and sense of achievement upon completing the race.”

Toby continued: “I have been training hard to reach my goal and improve my fitness. I would like to say a massive thank you for those who have donated to the Fund to support my fundraiser. The Fund gives amazing support to veterans and service people. I have heard countless stories from people I have served with about the same quality of support they have received.”

You can donate to support Toby’s fundraiser on JustGiving.
