On 10 September 2024, RAF Coningsby held a Colour Run to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund.

The event saw 50 RAF personnel and their families take part in the 5km Colour Run at RAF Coningsby to raise money to support the RAF Family.

RAF Coningsby Station Commander Group Captain O'Grady hosted the event alongside Project Officer Corporal Fountain.

Despite the heavy rain prior to the race in the afternoon, the weather remained dry for the duration of the Run. The participants ran five 1km laps around the Station field. The runners reached the finish line and were each greeted with homemade cakes and huge smiles from supporters and Station volunteers.

Holly Youd, Community Fundraiser for Central, North England and Wales at the Fund, said: “I'd like to say a big thank you to all who helped to make the Colour Run a great success. Thanks to the volunteers from RAF Coningsby and the neighbouring Stations who supported the event by throwing chalk, leading the warmup, coordinating the route and getting involved with the fun!"

The Colour Run has raised over £1200 for the Fund so far. You can donate to support the participants on JustGiving.
