On Wednesday 12 June, RAF Cranwell burst into a kaleidoscope of colours as it hosted the inaugural RAF Lincolnshire Colour Run to raise money for the Fund.
This vibrant event brought together Whole Force, families, and community members for a day filled with fun, fitness, and a splash of colour.
Participants of all ages took part in the 5K fun run, which featured five powder stations along the route where volunteers doused runners in brightly coloured powder.
The course wound through the historic grounds of RAF Cranwell, providing a picturesque backdrop to this event. Runners, joggers, and walkers all enjoyed the unique experience of crossing the finish line covered head-to-toe in a rainbow of hues.
There were group warm-up sessions, led by an enthusiastic instructor, which kicked off the event outside College Hall, and got everyone pumped and ready to tackle the course. Families and friends cheered from the sidelines, adding to the supportive atmosphere.
Holly Youd, Community Fundraiser for Central, North England and Wales at the Fund said: "The Colour Run was not just about fun and games; it also aimed to promote our welfare services and allow fundraising for the services to take place. The day perfectly encapsulated the spirit of unity, health, and joy, painting a beautiful picture of community spirit and military pride."
There was live music as the runners finished the race, with optional food and plenty of photo opportunities to capture their colourful transformations.
