Airplay at Brize

The RAF Benevolent Fund has just opened a brand new Airplay park at RAF Brize Norton as part of our commitment to young people on RAF stations. Sixteen year old Patrick Button, whose dad is serving in the RAF, tells us more in this blog.

Airplay has been a great experience for me, I’ve met loads of great people through it and I will never forget the memories I got from them.

I have lived at Brize for about just over six years and enjoyed all of it. Airplay has made a difference to me because it has helped me get more involved with the RAF. I’ve been part of it all my life as a forces child, but now through Airplay I represent young people on the station in all kinds of ways, like a tri-service residential taking place in November. 

I would say Airplay has made a difference to my mates as well, because it has enabled us to make new friends through the youth workers. My mates also learn a bit about the RAF that they didn’t know before.

The new Airplay park is a great achievement. It shows that the RAF isn’t just about people who work there but about the families, including non-forces families. It’s great that this new park will benefit the whole community.

If I was to describe Airplay in three words they would have to be: enjoyable, memorable and amazing.
