Fund helps transform outdoor space at RAF Honington

An outdoor space at RAF Honington has been redeveloped with help from the RAF Benevolent Fund. The new canopied seating area outside the station's Busby's bar and café will provide shelter from the elements, allowing personnel to socialise while enjoying food and drink, come rain or shine.
As well as receiving a grant of £5,000 grant from the Fund, the project at RAF Honington was supported by a £20,000 donation from the NAAFI Welfare Fund and additional support from the Nuffield Trust.
Group Captain Dutch Holland, Station Commander at RAF Honington, said: "This is another step forward in our ever-improving welfare facilities. Big thanks to the NAAFI Welfare Fund and also to the RAF Benevolent Fund and the Nuffield Trust for helping out at very short notice."
The NAAFI Fund makes grants to UK Armed Forces bases, located in the UK or overseas, for projects that improve the quality of life for serving personnel and serving families living on or near a Forces base or station.
The Nuffield Trust for the Forces of the Crown is a charity that finances recreational and welfare amenities and facilities that are likely to be of lasting benefit to the Armed Forces, but which are not provided by public funds.
