One of the highlights of the RAF Falcons' 2021 season was bringing together an RAF Benevolent Fund fundraiser and beneficiary for a day the two boys will never forget. Seven-year-olds Jacob Newson and Lorcan Polley, enjoyed an exciting day out at RAF Brize Norton where the team is based.

Since 2019, Jacob, known as Jacob the Pilot, has raised more than £43,000 for the Fund, while Lorcan has been supported by the charity. The Falcons decided to bring the two boys together to give them an insight into what they do and a fun day to remember.

Jacob and Lorcan had an action-packed day meeting crews and taking tours of aircraft including the C-17 Globemaster and Airbus A400 Atlas. They were also able to try a simulator experience and virtual parachute training before having a front row seat to one of their spectacular displays.

Second year RAF Falcon Sergeant Ben Sammut said: "It has been extremely rewarding to bring together two young boys, not only show them what we do but also give them the opportunity to have some fun. Both are so deserving of this opportunity and it was such a pleasure to bring them together; for Jacob to meet someone who has benefited from his fantastic fundraising and for Lorcan to meet a fund raiser who is the same age."

Lorcan's mum, Sue Polley, added: "This has been an amazing day. Many thanks to RAF Falcons for arranging this visit. It was humbling to meet Jacob, at such a young age, raising so much for charity. Jacob is an inspiring young man and I know that this is something Lorcan will talk about for a very long time."

This year, the Falcons celebrated their 60th anniversary with the launch of a thrilling new routine for the summer display season. The new display routine highlights the military precision and skill of the RAF Falcons, as each intricate element has a different style of flying and canopy control skills.

The RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team are proud supporters of the RAF Benevolent Fund. Through this partnership, the Falcons help to raise awareness of the Fund's services for current and former RAF personnel and their families.
