RAF veterans supported by care village, thanks to RAF Benevolent Fund grant

The RAF Benevolent Fund has continued its support of RAF residents of Broughton House Veteran Care Village in Salford with a £15,000 grant.

The funds come as residents have begun to move into new accommodation on the site – the first stage of a £15M redevelopment. Broughton House provides care for veterans from all three Armed Forces including residential and nursing care.

The Fund's grant follows an award of £18,000 earlier this year. The funds will support Broughton House's plans to create the UK's first Veteran Care Village at the only home in the north west for ex-servicemen and women.

Tom O'Brien, chairman of the Broughton House executive committee, said: "We are extremely grateful for the support that the RAF Benevolent Fund has given. We could not have reached this important milestone without your commitment and belief in the Veteran Care Village concept.

"I hope everyone connected with the RAF Benevolent Fund will be delighted with the result and that you will come and have a look at what has been achieved."
