On Tuesday 28 May, 50 young people from Airplay Youth Clubs participated in a 5K Colour Run to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund.

RAF children and young people from RAF Wyton, RAF Wittering, and RAF Honington took part in the 5K event.

Airplay participants collectively completed 1,383 laps covering over 276 miles by running, walking, and skipping.

Airplay is the Fund’s national youth programme, delivered by One YMCA, across 24 RAF stations. Airplay provides an invaluable service designed to address the unique challenges faced by RAF families, by giving children and young people access to a safe, stimulating programme of activities and some much-needed continuity if and when their family relocates.

The Colour Run was a resounding success, thanks to the dedication of Airplay Youth Workers, colleagues, community support, parent volunteers, and enthusiastic young participants. The event raised £755 for the Fund.

Airplay Youth Clubs have been involved in the Airplay Relay event competing across Stations since April when the first challenge took place at RAF Brize Norton.

Throughout summer, the Airplay Relay event will be continuing across Stations including RAF Cranwell, RAF Halton and RAF Northolt.
