'To me, Remembrance is a time to reflect on all our fallen comrades who never made it back home. Regardless of where I am, it’s a time to think of those I served with, those that got injured – or died serving their country.
'It is also a time to feel very proud, being able to say I served my country, that I was in the RAF for 28 years – and I wear my medals with pride. To have little children approach me and with envy, ask if I flew in fighter planes!
'I find it a very emotional time, but I also get great satisfaction from attending any Remembrance Sunday Event. Seeing old RAF colleagues and talking about the good times – sharing stories and feeling so proud about being a part of the Armed Forces.
